Dukes raise $1,000 for Jimmy Fund

( PITTSFIELD, Mass.) - With
silent auctions during both of their home playoff games, the
Pittsfield Dukes raised exactly $1,000. for the Jimmy Fund. A Team
USA autographed bat, helmet, and ball package sold for $225.00, a
Pittsfield Dukes autographed shirt and bat package sold for $125.00,
and a North Adams SteepleCats autographed bat and ball package sold
for $50.00.
"We're excited about it," said Dukes Director of Marketing Scott
Bloomberg. "Being able to raise money for great organizations like
the Jimmy Fund, and being involved in the community, are things that
we take pride in. We're going to do even more of it in the future."
The Dukes have also contributed to Berkshire County Arc, The Brien
Center, the Wahconah High School Cheerleaders, Relay for Life, and
other local organizations this season.
The Dukes would like to thank Eastover Resort, Mazzeo's Ristorante,
and American Speedy Printing for donating items for the silent
auction. The auction was originally planned for a home game on July
27th, but was postponed due to the weather. The Dukes season ended
on August 6th with a 6-3 loss to the Newport Gulls in the NECBL
Southern Division Championship Series.
