Rain postpones Swamp Bats-Dukes game at Wahconah Park
By: Michael Radomski

(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) - The Keene Swamp Bats and the Pittsfield Dukes were rained out tonight at Historic Wahconah Park.

Right as the Dukes were about to take the field, the skies opened up and rain poured down onto the field. The tarp was then put onto the field, and about an hour later the ballgame was officially postponed.

No makeup date was announced but tickets for tonight's game will be redeemable at any of the remaining Dukes' home games. During the rain delay, various Dukes and Swamp Bats players ran onto the field and performed tarp slides for the fans at Wahconah Park.

Pittsfield will now travel to Holyoke tomorrow to take on the Blue Sox in a seven o'clock contest. Kyle Vazquez (Franklin Pierce) was scheduled to make the start on Wednesday and will most likely be moved one day back in the rotation. The Dukes will then play at Torrington on Friday and return home on Saturday to host the Newport Gulls at seven o'clock.

The Swamp Bats will return home tonight and then host the Manchester Silkworms on Friday night at seven o'clock. Sean McDermott (Virginia Tech) was scheduled to start tonight at Pittsfield and there is no word yet if he will start against Manchester.

Fans can listen to the game and all Pittsfield Dukes games on the NECBL Broadcast Network by going to the site at http://www.teamline.cc/sportpage?teamcode=6301&eventcode=5

Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Dukes box office at 105 Wahconah Street or by calling 413 447 DUKE (3853).
